Polish born concert pianist Kasia Skupien presents a Lunchtime Concert for SMARTS (St. Mary's Arts) at St. Mary's Church, Hinckley on Weds 2nd April at 1pm lasting about 45 minutes. Kasia studied at the Academy of Music in Lodz, Poland before moving to the UK to continue her studies at Birmingham Conservatoire, completing her Master of Music Degree in 2010. Her programme will include a selection of Chopin's Nocturnes and Rachmaninov's Preludes together with the second movement of Prokofiev's Piano Sonata Number 7. The concert ends with two well-known Chopin pieces, his Valse Brillante Number 1 and Fantaisie-Impromptu. Admission on the door is £4.50 for adults and £1 for students and children.
