Hinckley and Bosworth has been allocated £400,000 as part of the Government’s Rural England Prosperity Fund.

This investment will help boost rural businesses and upgrade community facilities such as farms, pubs and village halls.

This latest cash-injection for the area comes as part of a £110 million Fund from the Government’s commitment to level up rural communities and businesses. The Rural England Prosperity Fund is integrated into the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), which aims to provide support for productivity and prosperity in places that need it most.

For eligible local authorities, the Rural England Prosperity Fund is a top-up to the UKSPF allocations and supports activities that specifically address the challenges faced by rural communities, such as Hinckley and Bosworth.

Investment will be based on local priorities and support projects such as grants for rural tourism, village halls, pubs and post offices. The money can also be used to develop, restore or refurbish local natural and heritage assets.

Dr Luke Evans, MP for Bosworth, said “I’m very pleased that a much-needed £400,000 is coming to Hinckley and Bosworth as part of the Rural England Prosperity Fund. This is additional money coming to our area as part of the government’s £2.6 billion Shared Prosperity Fund and we are hoping to hear an announcement regarding further funding from the UKSPF in the coming weeks.

“It’s vital that our area and the cornerstones of our community that need it most benefit from this extra money. I look forward to hearing and supporting the Council’s plans for the £400,000 and seeing how this will positively impact our area.”
