Over the last four weeks there has been a significant reduction in footfall in Hinckley town centre.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, which released the statistics, has thanked local people for following the government's advice to stay at home during the Coronavirus pandemic.

The figures were compared with the same four weeks in March and April 2019.

The UK went in to lockdown on 23rd March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

A number of local events planned in the town centre had to be cancelled due to restrictions on public gatherings.

Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council has reminded local residents about the rules of the lockdown which include the use of public parks for exercise.
