Plans have been developed will enable residents with a valid permit to park within a proposed parking zone.
The proposed permit zone includes Hill Street, Hurst Road, Mount Road, Orchard Street, Priesthills Road, Princess Road, Queens Road, Springfield Road, The Lawns, Thornfield Way and Thornycroft Road.
The council says the scheme addresses long-held concerns voiced by local residents over the lack of designated parking spaces.
There was a low response rate to the consultation in September last year, which didn’t give the council a clear indication on whether there is support for the scheme or not.
They are now contacting residents, who did not send in responses the first time around, to seek their views.
Councillor Ozzy O’Shea, county council cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “This will be the final occasion on which we consult on the proposed residents parking scheme so I would encourage people to get in touch so we can fully understand their views before deciding on the next steps.”
The informal consultation started on 29th June and will run for 21 days until 20th July.
