Witnesses are being asked to come forward following a barn fire near Packington.

It happened at a farm in Spring Lane at around 9.20pm on Saturday 10th October.

As a result of the fire – which is believed to have been started deliberately – both the barn and hay and straw were destroyed.

This has caused a significant financial loss to the farmer.

Detective Constable Ken Huddart, the investigating officer, said: “This kind of incident causes significant risk to the safety of the public and our colleagues of the fire service.

“We are keen to hear from anybody who saw any suspicious activity within Packington and the surrounding area during the evening.”
