British professional boxer Anthony Joshua has had his eyes tested in Loughborough Specsavers ahead of his rematch against Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk.
This is a crucial match for both sports stars as the victor will secure the WBA title, the WBO and IBF heavyweight belts.
Specsavers' optical director Tej Chauhan, who carried out AJ's eye test, said: "We are fortunate to have seen quite a lot of elite athletes because we are in Loughborough. It was however quite overwhelming seeing AJ because he is so well recognised. It's one thing seeing him on TV and reading about it but then to see him in person. I was star-struck.
"It didn't do anything different for him that we wouldn't do for anyone else. We make sure the vision and the health of anyone's eyes are checked but it is fair to say there was a bit of extra anticipation that we hoped his vision was good."
The opticians have welcomed other successful athletes in the past when they have been training at Loughborough University and it was following the recommendation of two other British boxers, who had recently used the opticians, that Anthony Joshua choose Specsavers.
