This week, action is expected to take place on Wednesday 19 and Friday 21 January.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council have announced that brown lid bin recycling collections are expected to be disrupted for the third week running due to strike action taken by Coventry City Council drivers.

This week, action is expected to take place on Wednesday 19 and Friday 21 January.

In order to help people who have been inconvenienced the borough council are aiming to collect as many bins as possible on strike days.

Councillor Sue Markham, the portfolio holder for council services, said: “We recognise people might find they are storing recyclable waste they want to dispose of. If we have missed your recycling collection day, and you need to, please place your recycling waste in black bags and place these in or next to your black bin, which will continue to be collected on its regular collection date.

“We are doing all we can to minimise the disruption to residents at this time.”

The council are asking residents to continue to put out their bins when their regular recycling collection is due.

If you do not receive a recycling collection this coming week, you can place recycling waste in your black bin for collection the following week (week commencing 24 January) as crews will take additional black bag waste if needed.

Black bins and the green bin garden waste service are not affected by the action.
