A small service was held at the Carillon Tower in Loughborough yesterday to mark Remembrance Sunday and pay tribute to those who gave their lives for this country.

This year’s service was held in line with national guidance and residents were encouraged to stay at home and find other ways to honour those who served and sacrificed themselves in the line of duty.

The borough council broadcasted the service live on its Facebook page, giving people the opportunity to watch from home.

The service included the two-minute silence at 11am which was then followed by a small number of wreaths being laid by Armed Forces personnel and the Mayor of Charnwood.
