The Conservatives now have 25 council seats.

Jamie Marek Hartshorn won 55% of the votes in the Barpool ward by-election last night

The Conservative Party member will now serve as a councillor until May 2022 which is the remainder of the term for the seat.

The by-election was called as the former Labour Barpool ward councillor Patricia Elliott stood down from Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

The Conservative win increases their hold over the council as they now have 25 seats out of the 34.
