A mobile coronavirus testing unit will return to the Woolpack Way car park in Atherstone as part of the planned response in North Warwickshire.
It will be coming back to the town on Sunday 13th and Monday 14th September. On these days the car park will be closed to the public.
North Warwickshire Borough Council, supported by Warwickshire County Council and the Ministry of Defence say they are putting in place measures to enable a quick response to local outbreaks of Covid-19
Leader of North Warwickshire Borough Council, Councillor David Wright said, “I want to reassure residents of North Warwickshire that the arrival of the Mobile Testing Unit in Atherstone is part of our response plan to help us prepare should we need to undertake a local lockdown. This site has been identified as being the most suitable location in the Borough and does not in anyway mean that there is any cause for concern in Atherstone. I hope the MTU won’t be needed, but this forms an important part of our emergency planning and preparedness work.”
The borough council says the mobile testing unit will be a live site and will be available for the public to use on those days, all tests must be pre-booked through www.nhs.uk or calling 119.
