The Hideaway in Market Bosworth has been put back on the market.

The promoters of a competition to win a "Dream Home" in Market Bosworth say they didn't sell enough raffle tickets for the home to be won.

Winyourdreamhome.com have been promoting The Hideaway in Market Bosworth as a property that could be won in an online raffle competition.

The organisers said despite extending the closing date for entries to 31st December 2020, they had not reached their target of 712,500 ticket sales in order to award the house as a prize.

In a statement on facebook, Win Your Dream said: "Sadly this particular property failed to draw in enough ticket buyers, and sales were not enough to award the house & car as the prize on this occasion. We tried hard and extended for extra time, but it seemed an Eco house with a grass roof in Market Bosworth was not for everyone."

Mike Chatha from Win Your Dream told Fosse 107: "As per the competition terms we will be awarding 80% of net ticket sales after charity donations, marketing and processing costs to a lucky winner. But on this occasion there was not sufficient media interest outside of the immediate area."

Cash prizes will now be awarded instead but have not yet disclosed what figure the top prize will be, or how many tickets were actually sold.

"We are currently processing the competition data, but the number of tickets sold and amount of the main cash prize will be announced when known at our Draw at noon on January 6th."

The property on offer was a 5-bed luxury Eco house in Market Bosworth worth over £1.2million and a Maserati car worth £85,000!

The prize draw was due to take place on 6th January after being extended due to poor ticket sales.

The company explains on the website that if the minimum number of tickets are not sold, winners will get a share of the ticket receipts as an alternative.

The Hideaway was built by Leicestershire builder Nigel Salt whose dream had always been to build a state-of-the-art Eco Home for his retirement but, according to the competition website, the COVID-19 lockdown meant he couldn't personally live in it.

The property was originally listed for sale before being offered as a potential competition prize.

Since the announcement on 1st January 2021, the house has been put back on the market for £1.25million pounds.

The organisers of the competition say they will announce the alternative cash prizes on 6th January 2021.
