Get active and have fun with Girl Power!

Women in Charnwood are being invited to enjoy an afternoon of fun and exercise whilst raising money for charity on Sunday December 15.

Girl Power is organised by the borough council’s Active Charnwood team in partnership with TayPlay SPORT and Fusion Lifestyle. The event aims to empower and engage women and girls into sport participation.

A 20 per cent donation from ticket sales will be given local charity Living Without Abuse. The charity supports women, men and children that have been affected by domestic abuse.

Julie Robinson, head of neighbourhood services at the Council said: “We are pleased to be working with our partners Fusion Lifestyle and TayPlay Sport to put together the Girl Power event.

“It’s a great opportunity to get together with the girls and have lots of fun while exercising and trying out different activities.

“There will be plenty for people to get involved with throughout the afternoon while raising money for a local charity. I hope it’s a fun afternoon for everyone who attends.”

The event is for women and girls aged 8 and over and is being held at Loughborough Leisure Centre between 12-3pm.

There will be a range of activity taster sessions to choose from including netball, Boogie Bounce, Bangra Blaze, Glow Beatz and 60 ft inflatables.

There will also be stalls available providing information on health and wellbeing, arts and crafts activities and glitter stations.

Tickets are £8 per family and includes free t-shirts for everyone taking part.
