Founder of Hinckley District Past and Present awarded BEM

Alongside his work at Hinckley District Past and Present (HDPP) Paul also presents shows on Fosse 107.

The founder of a local historical group Hinckley District Past and Present will receive a British Empire Medal.

Paul Gardner is on King's Birthday Honours List for 2023 and has been awarded the honour for services to the Hinckley community.

Alongside his work at Hinckley District Past and Present (HDPP) Paul also presents shows on Fosse 107.

Paul Gardner said: "I am honoured, I am touched, I still can't quite believe it myself."

He told Fosse 107 about reading the letter for the first time.

Paul said: "I feel a great connection to my home town, to the people here and Hinckley in general. It is a great little place."

Paul said he loves what he does.
