Adam Powney from Ibstock in Leicestershire is cutting off his hair to support two charities.
In just three short weeks a local guy from Ibstock, Adam Powney has decided to raise money for local charity, A Gift To Lift, he has already surpassed his original target of raising £1,500.
The Hair Cut Challenge will take place on Monday 12th February at Adam's workplace, where Jackie Hopwood, mum of the founder of the charity, will be holding the scissors and cutting off Adam's very, very long locks.
A Gift to Lift, which was set up by Alex Hopwood, grants wishes for blood cancer patients, donates money towards blood cancer research and aims to reach Alex's long term aim of buying a holiday home in Norfolk, so patients can spend quality time with their loved ones.
Adam said "I’ve wanted to do something for charity for a while after my Dad sadly passed away last year, we were put in touch with A Gift To Lift and I read the story about Alex the founder. The charity does fantastic work and I would like to help as much as I can".
Adam's hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, they provide real hair wigs for children and young adults suffering with hair loss, a charity which also revealed earlier this year that the Duchess of Cambridge donated her hair in support.
