The directors of Leicester's Curve Theatre say they will announce plans to reopen soon.

A statement from the Chief Executive ,Chris Stafford, and Artistic Director Nikolai Foster was posted on social media after the theatre was confirmed to have received vital funding.

The post said:

"COVID continues to have a devastating impact on our industry and we are indebted to Arts Council England and DCMS for the Culture Recovery Grant which will help secure a future for Curve. Curve would not have survived this period of closure without the funding grants from Arts Council England and Leicester City Council, along with the support from the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme."

Over 750,000 people a year engage with Curve through performances and projects. The theatre is a registered charity.

Curve has already announced that Beauty and The Beast, The Musical will open in May 2021.

It's expected further information about the re-launch with limited capacity will be available soon.
