There was a significant amount of traffic being held initially, but this has now cleared.
The M1 is now open following a closure earlier this morning in both directions between junctions 22 and 23.
The motorway was closed due to concerns over a woman on a bridge.
Police negotiators were at the scene and speaking to the woman.
