He was sentenced to a total of 44 months in prison.

A man has been given a prison sentence after 'forcing entry' into four properties in a week.

Daniel Richardson, 33, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court on the 25th of August for the following offences:

  • Burglary at a property in Bridge Street on 9 July

  • Burglary at a property in The Rushes on 8 July

  • Burglary at a property in Wards End on 7 July

  • Burglary at a business premises in Church Gate on 3 July

Detective Constable James Highton, the investigating officer, said: “Over this short period, Richardson forced entry into these addresses and stole items including alcohol, tobacco, tools, handbags and a mountain bike.

“He gave no regard to the impact burglary can have on those victims and people within the surrounding community.

“He is now facing a period of time in prison to face up to his crimes and I hope the fact that he has been sentenced so soon after committing his latest crime will provide reassurance to people in and around Charnwood of the work the force is doing to tackle such offenders.”

Three further offences of business burglaries on 6, 10 and 11 July were ordered to lie on file.
