Community groups in Charnwood can find out how to apply for National Lottery funding by tuning into a live Facebook chat.
The discussion, organised by Charnwood Borough Council in partnership with the Big Lottery Fund, will talk about funding on offer for local groups and offer advice about how to apply.
The talk will be broadcast live on the Charnwood Community Heroes Facebook page between 12-1pm on Wednesday, August 16.
Councillor Jonathan Morgan, Lead Member for Communities and Customer Service said: “This event is a great chance for local groups to find out more about national funding opportunities.
“Often groups may not know what funding is available to them, so this is a chance to speak to Matt from the Big Lottery Fund directly and get advice on how they can apply.
“Facebook is great way to connect with people, so we hope this live discussion will give people the chance to join in and ask questions too.”
Matt Rowe, Funding Officer for the Big Lottery said: “This is a great opportunity for local organisations to discuss funding with us in a friendly and interactive way. Thanks to National Lottery players, there is funding available which can bring a positive change to their local communities. I am really looking forward to providing bespoke advice tailored to the needs of Charnwood groups.
The event is part of a monthly ‘funding feature’ organised by the Council’s communities and partnerships team. Each month information and advice is posted on the team’s Facebook page, to encourage community groups to make the most of funding available to them.
To join the Facebook Live chat, people can visit the Charnwood Community Heroes Facebook page on Wednesday, August 16. The talk will be broadcast live on the Facebook page from 12pm.
A recording of the interview will be available on the page for people who can’t tune in live.
