A competition to find the best photographs of parks and open spaces in Charnwood has returned for a second year.
To enter residents need to take pictures on their favourite park or open space in the borough.
Photos need to have been taken in the last six months and there are three different categories for people to enter:
- Open category (age 16 and above)
- Young photographer (under 16s)
- Wonderful wildlife (open to all ages)
Cllr Anne Gray, the Council’s lead member for open spaces, said: “I’m delighted our photo competition has returned this summer. We were blown away by the fantastic entries last year. The competition provides the perfect opportunity for residents to explore the outdoors while showing off their photography skills.
“Whether you’re going for your morning walk through ancient woodland, running along the canal path or enjoying a picnic at one of the many beautiful parks we have in the borough, there are lots of opportunities to capture some photos.
“Being outside in the fresh air and amongst nature has many benefits and we’re lucky in Charnwood to have such a wide range of outdoor places to visit.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing all the entries, so enjoy being outdoors in Charnwood and remember to take your phone or camera!”
Winners will receive a £50 voucher and a £25 voucher will be awarded to each runner-up.
Entries close at 5pm on Monday August 28, 2023, and winners will be contacted directly.
