Hinckley: Nearly 700 incidents of fly-tipping reported in less than 6 months

Only 1% of those resulted in a fine.

One of the latest incidents saw 10 bags of rubbish dumped in hedges in Kirkby Mallory.

A borough council investigation managed to track down the culprits and issued fines totalling £400.

However incidents where the council catch those who dump litter appear to be few and far between.

Fosse107 can reveal that of the 697 incidents, only 7 fixed penalty notices or 1% have been issued since January for those caught dumping waste.

Earlier in June, a pram, pink scooter, child’s play cart, and other recognisable items were dumped in Shenton.
