Soon all recyclable items will be able to be placed together, directly into the main body of your brown-lid bin.
From Monday, 23 October, you will no longer need to separate your recycling in Nuneaton and Bedworth.
From this date, all recyclable items will be able to be placed together, directly into the main body of your brown-lid bin, removing the need for the separate paper and card caddy.
Anthony Hornsby, Education, Communications and Social Values Officer at Sherbourne Recycling, said: “The technology installed at Sherbourne Resource Park means that Nuneaton and Bedworth Council residents will soon be able to mix their dry kerbside recycling materials, making it that little bit easier to do your bit.”
“This is because your recycling will be processed by the latest industry-leading AI technology and optical sorters that are able to distinguish and sort recyclable materials in a fraction of a second.
“There are many other benefits to this new recycling process that we’re looking to share soon, including new recyclable materials.
“We’re pleased to be working with Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to ensure its residents are some of the first in the UK to benefit from this.”
Residents are being asked to not use their caddy insert from 23 October.
Cllr Sue Markham, Portfolio Holder for Public Services, said:“I’m delighted that we can finally announce a date as to when people can stop using their paper and card caddy.
“The introduction of the new Sherbourne Resource Park brings so many advantages both for residents and the environment.
“Being able to use one bin for all recyclable materials should make it so much easier for our residents.
“As we have said before, please do not start to do this until 23 October as our current set up is not designed to cope until this date.
“Many thanks go out to our residents for their patience on this, and I hope they will find the new system much more convenient to use.”
