Organisers said there was too much uncertainty when planning the event.
This Summer's Nuneaton Food Festival has been postponed until August 2022 over Covid fears.
Organisers made the decision back in June after 'extensive discussions'.
They cite 'uncertainty around the pandemic' during the planning process and they did not want to start accepting more bookings only to have to cancel them later on.
Instead they decided it was best for them to be 'safe' and cancel.
A spokesperson for CJ Events Warwickshire Ltd said,
"After extensive discussions back in June 2021, we decided to postpone the Nuneaton Food Festival from August 2021 until 2022.
"At the time of planning, there was still too much uncertainty around the pandemic. We did not want to start accepting more traders onto the event, booking entertainment, staging, medical and other services if this will have to be cancelled again. And therefore it was best for us to be safe and cancel this one and wait until next year to deliver it.
"We did not want to deliver a substandard event, so we would instead hold fire until we're in a better position to carry on working on this.
"Proposed 2022 dates have been put forward to Nuneaton & Bedworth Brough Council, and we're awaiting this to be confirmed.
"We look forward to delivering an amazing Food Festival next year!"
