"This is a positive step, not just for the Town Hall but for Nuneaton in general."
The area outside Nuneaton Town Hall will soon be refurbished with plant areas at the front of the building.
This will include the removal of all existing shrubs, trees and lighting with a new planting scheme and statement hard landscaping will be installed along with reinstatement of the floodlighting.
Due to the nature of the project, a temporary footpath closure will be required with the works programmed in two halves, allowing continued access to the Town Hall from the front entrance via one of the ramps.
The works are being funded from UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Cllr Tim Jenkins, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, Health and Communities, said: “Nuneaton Town Hall has been a focal point of our Borough since the 1930’s and attracts thousands of visitors and customers each year.
“This is a positive step, not just for the Town Hall but for Nuneaton in general. This work will create a more attractive and inviting frontage and will also provide valuable nectar sources for our butterflies, bees and other pollinators.’’
