The plans would see access created off Cardinal Drive in Burbage, near to the Hansom Cab off Rugby Road.
The planning application states, "The site is located outside the current development limits of Burbage. However, it is considered to be a good location for new housing given the number of local facilities in the surrounding area, and its proximity to surrounding settlements."
"The site is enclosed by residential areas to the north and east. By incorporating appropriate landscaping along the western and southern edge – and retaining and strengthening existing planting – the site constitutes a logical extension to Burbage, thereby improving the quality and choice of housing in the local area."
The applicant states that approximately 80 dwellings could be built on the site with a mix of of "mid-market, starter, and affordable housing".
The proposed development comprises of 2 and 2.5 storey dwellings.
