It's after an increasing number of incidents with members of the public approaching Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council staff.

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council says there have been an increasing number of incidents with members of the public approaching their staff in particular the waste collection crews.

A spokesperson from the council said: "We would like to ask that residents refrain from approaching any members of our waste collection crews, or indeed any Borough Council employees or associates and obey the social distancing guidelines that are still in place, in order to keep all parties safe."

Cllr Jill Sheppard, Portfolio Holder for Central Services and Refuse said: “We are sending out this plea to residents as we have seen an increase in incidents like this in recent weeks. The safety of our staff and residents is of utmost priority and we need to do all we can to maintain it. Social distancing guidelines are still in place and we ask that our residents follow these guidelines and not approach our staff.”
