Police appeal for witnesses after dog attack in Nuneaton

Officers want help identify the dog and its owner.

There is an appeal for witnesses as a woman has been attacked by a dog in Nuneaton.

The incident happened in the wooded area near Hillcrest Road, Camphill, Nuneaton.

It was reported that the dog – which was described as a brown and white ‘pit bull type’ – initially attacked the victim’s dog at some time between 1.30pm-2.00pm on Friday 24 May. When she tried to intervene the dog bit her on the hand causing serious injuries.

PC Tamburro from Warwickshire Police said: “This attack left the woman with a nasty injury to her hand. We’ve carried out enquiries locally and we’re now keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the attack or who can help us identify the dog and its owner.”
