A pupil at Chetwynd Junior School in Nuneaton has tested positive for Covid-19.

Public Health Warwickshire and school officials say those who have been in possible close contact with the pupil have been told to self-isolate for 14 days.

In a joint statement from Public Health Warwickshire and the school, Liann Brookes-Smith, Associate Director of Public Health in Warwickshire said:

“We have been notified that a pupil at Chetwynd Junior School, Nuneaton has tested positive for Covid-19.

“In line with advice from Public Health Warwickshire, we have reviewed all possible close contacts and all staff and students with direct contact with the positive case have been contacted and asked to self-isolate for 14 days.

“The rest of the school remains safe and open to all other pupils. If you have not been contacted directly, then your child can continue their normal activities. We would ask that if anyone within a household is showing any symptoms of the virus; a high temperature, a continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste  that all household members should self isolate until that person has been tested and it is negative."
