A man has been seriously injured following a collision in Ashby Road yesterday evening.
Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the collision, which happened at the crossroads of Greenclose Lane and Frederick Street, just after 11pm.
The pedestrian, who is in his 20s, was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he currently remains in a serious but stable condition.
Road closures were put in place in the area while initial enquiries were carried out.
Officers are appealing to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact police.
Detective Sergeant Ed Des-Chanelle said: “Our enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“A number of people will have been in the area at the time following the Euro semi-final match. If you were, please think back to any information you have which could help our enquiries. Did you see the vehicle or male pedestrian before the collision? Did you witness the incident?
“Anyone who has any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time should also check this and get in touch with us.”
