It’s going to be an excellent 2020...

The first event of 2020 is on Thursday, January 16, when Richard Griffin returns to the Fosse 107 Lounge with his Elvis Presley Songbook.

The WGH Carpentry and Joinery Darts Masters 2020 takes place on Saturday, January 18, when five of the UK’s top darts players Rob Cross, Steve Beaton, Stephen Bunting, Ricky Evans and Dave Pallett compete for the prestigious title.

Pantomime is back at The Civic Hall from Thursday, January 30 until Saturday, February 1, when Nuneaton Pantomime and Revue Society present Cinderella, with four performances aimed at the whole family.

On Saturday, February 15, the venue hosts The Mayor’s Civic Appeal Concert featuring Thank Abba for the Music. This year’s appeal, spearheaded by the Mayor, Cllr June Tandy, aims to provide a Serenity Garden at The George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton. This will give an open space away from clinical areas for patients to relax and socialise during their stay.

The following day Ami Ashton’s Dance Academy presents The World is Dancing, while The Tina Turner Experience takes to the stage on Saturday, February 22, featuring a 10-piece band and highly acclaimed vocalist Julie Nevada as the legendary superstar.

Brass band enthusiasts from around the country will descend upon Bedworth for the weekend of Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 to take part in The Midlands Region of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

And that eagerly anticipated event is followed by Northern Live – Do I Love You, on Friday, March 13, highlighting more than two dozen Northern Soul classics. The next night sees the return of The Upbeat Beatles after a highly successful show at the venue last year, playing the entire range of Beatles hits from Beatlemania to Abbey Road.

Another Civic Hall favourite, Barry Steele and Friends is back on Friday, March 20, with their new production The Traveling Wilburys Songbook.

The spring programme concludes with JVS Performing Arts and Showstoppers, a celebration of the musicals complete with excellent dance routines on Sunday, March 29.

A spokesman for The Civic Hall in Bedworth, said: “We are thoroughly looking forward to some wonderful shows this spring and fully believe we have something for everyone.

“2019 saw some magnificent shows at The Civic Hall including top comics Jimmy Carr, Jasper Carrott, Al Murray, Jim Davidson and Ed Byrne, local swing star Matt Ford, Blake, Showaddywaddy as well as our highly successful pantomime Beauty and the Beast.

“And, it is well worth booking a date in your diary for November, when Jack and the Beanstalk, our pantomime for 2020 takes to the stage.’’
