Over 80% of children in Warwickshire got their first choice school.
It is National Secondary School Offer Day and children in Warwickshire and Leicestershire will find out which secondary school they will attend.
In Warwickshire 6,671 children applied for a secondary place by the application deadline and '82% have been offered a place at their first-choice school, compared to 78.5% in 2021'.
Cllr Jeff Morgan, Portfolio Holder for Children, Families and Education at Warwickshire County Council said: “I’m really pleased that the number of children getting a place at their chosen school continues to increase. We have many excellent schools across the county and they continue to be popular with families both from within Warwickshire and those living outside it. We look forward to welcoming our new secondary school children starting in September”.
And in Leicestershire 'nearly 7,000 students have been offered their first-choice option. This equates to 84.7 per cent of all applicants, while 6.5 per cent secured their second choice and 1.6 per cent their third choice'.
If you applied for your child's place in Leicestershire 'you will receive an email' which will say which school has been offered or 'if you applied by post, we will send you a letter by post on 1 March 2022. This may take up to 5 days to arrive.'
