If you were driving in the Rugby Road area of Burbage and captured any footage on your dashcam equipment officers are asking to see it.
Four men have been arrested after a burglary within the grounds of Hinckley and District General Hospital.
Officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle within the grounds of the Mount Road site around 12.55 am on Tuesday 28th January.
It’s believed a group of people broke into a premises that is currently under construction at the hospital site. They stole thousands of pounds worth of copper wiring and caused a significant amount of damage.
Following enquiries, four men were arrested on suspicion of burglary (other than dwelling). They have all since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
When officers arrived at the scene one of the two suspect vehicles was seen leaving the site and failed to stop for them. That vehicle was last seen heading along Rugby Road in Burbage.
Sergeant Fiona Day from Hinckley Neighbourhood Policing Area, said: “Our investigation remains ongoing and are currently looking through CCTV and carrying out house to house enquiries in the area.
“It is sad that a community resource has been targeted in this way and no doubt this incident will have an impact on the ongoing work on the site.
“We would urge anyone who may have witnessed what happened or saw people or vehicles acting suspiciously around the area at this time. Also, if you were driving in the Rugby Road area of Burbage and captured any footage on your dashcam equipment of a vehicle driving at speed through the area we would like to speak to you.”
