A free event aimed at encouraging people to talk about mental health is being hosted at Barwell’s George Ward Centre next month.
The event, which takes place on Thursday 1 February, has been organised by the Borough Council as part of Time to Talk day to offer people the chance to be more open about mental health.
There will be information stalls, a book sale and arts activities between 11am and 3pm and various organisations will be available to provide support and information, including Mental Health Matters, Time to Change, Recovery College and Job Centre Plus.
The event is open to everyone and goody bags will be provided as well as the opportunity to create a piece of artwork in a relaxed and friendly environment.
The venue will be transformed into a cinema in the evening to showcase two films which focus on mental health and wellbeing:
- Inside Out - 4.30pm
- Life, Animated – 7pm
There will be a small entry fee of £1 for adults and 50p for children to view the films, with all proceeds being donated to local mental health charities.
