Previously the grant has funded projects such as new toilet facilities on a community allotment.

Voluntary and community groups working with residents across Hinckley and Bosworth are encouraged to apply for a share of two new grants.

One of the grants offers sums of up to £500 and the other between £500 and £3,000 to help support community and voluntary projects across the borough.

The Making a Difference fund offers grants of £500 to £3,000 to kickstart new voluntary and community sector projects.

Previously the grant has funded projects including new toilet facilities on a community allotment, a training course for volunteers at a local running club, and targeted sports sessions for young people at risk of taking part in anti-social behaviour.

The second grant being launched for voluntary and community groups is the Community Volunteer Fund which offers grants of up to £500.

This grant is to support grassroots volunteering and community activity across the borough.

Executive Member for Housing and Community Safety at the Borough Council, Councillor Michael Mullaney said: “We are fortunate to have many local community groups in Hinckley and Bosworth who do tremendous work. I would encourage any group that thinks it might be able to qualify to apply.”

Funded by Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council (HBBC) and administered by the Rural Community Council (RCC), both grants offer community and voluntary groups a quick and easy way to apply for a small grant for their project.

The grants open on 12 July and a limited fund is available, so groups are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
