Elsa's owner has set up a crowdfunder page to help pay for her medical bills.
Ruth Armstrong, who lives in Hinckley, never expected that after 14 years she would be reunited with her missing cat Elsa.
Elsa had been living on the ground of Hammonds Furniture factory, in Nutts Lane for years. The staff who had been looking after the cat took her to the RSPCA when they noticed a worrying lump on her head.
The vet scanned Elsa's microchip and was able to tell Ruth the remarkable news.
Ruth Armstrong, said: "I'm still in shock I can't believe it. After so long she is home. After a while, you almost give up hope but you don't want to believe the worst. Finding out she was still alive was amazing."
In a post on Facebook Ruth reached out to ask for help funding the medical treatment for Elsa, "I have set up a crowdfunding link https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/help-for-elsa-the-wonder-cat to help fund Elsa's treatment. She has no insurance, having been gone for so long and no chance of us getting any for her as she has returned with lots of medical requirements. If you can spare anything to help her on the road to recovery then please do. Her bills are mounting rapidly and we're not going to be able to cover them all."
So far the page has raised over £1,500 which is a huge way towards Ruth's target of £2,000.
