Arrests after alleged attack in Loughborough

Three teenagers have been questioned and released by officers, three others have been taken in for questioning.

Officers investigating an attack on a man in a Loughborough street have made three further arrests.

Officers were called to Magnolia Avenue at around 6.45pm on Wednesday 14th March following a report a man had been stabbed.

The victim had confronted a group of youths who he saw slashing the tyres of his car.

He was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham where he remains in a stable condition with injuries that are not life-threatening.

Two boys, aged 13, and one boy, aged 15, have been arrested today on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. They are currently in police custody.

Three teenage boys, aged 15, 16 and 17, who were previously arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Inspector Deb Hubbard said: “This happened in a residential area at a time when people were returning home from work.

“We are urging members of the public who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time to contact police.”
