The awards ceremony, organised by Charnwood Borough Council, received 76 individual nominations and judges have now selected finalists in all 10 categories.
Cllr Deborah Taylor, lead member for communities said: “It was tough trying to narrow down this year’s finalists as we have so many talented and dedicated individuals, coaches, clubs and volunteers in Charnwood.
“These awards are not only a fantastic way to celebrate their sporting talents but to also acknowledge the people who dedicate their time to make it happen.
“A huge thank you to everyone who submitted nominations and good luck to all the finalists.”
The categories recognise the achievements of junior and senior athletes, sports clubs, coaches and volunteers.
Last year’s winners included basketball coach Mark Jarram and Loughborough Town Swimming Club.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place on Monday, December 2 at Burleigh Court, Loughborough.
