A number of highly commended entries will be displayed at Loughborough Town Hall throughout December.
A competition is being held to find the artwork that will become the Mayor of Charnwood’s Christmas card for 2022.
Children aged 11 and under and living in Charnwood can enter the competition and they have total creative freedom as long as the design is Christmas-themed.

The Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Jennifer Tillotson, said: “Children have such creativity and imagination, so I am excited to see the entries and can’t wait to look through them.
“I’m sure there are going to be some amazing designs and my job of picking a winner will be very difficult.
“Best of luck to everyone who enters.”
Guidelines for entry:

The piece must be the child’s own work.

The design should be on A4 paper, with a 10mm border.

Any media can be used, but no glitter or other embellishments.
Entries should be sent to: Mayor’s Office, Charnwood Borough Council, Southfield Road, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 2TX, and should state the artist’s full name and age, along with the contact details for a parent/guardian (phone and email).
The deadline for entries is Friday the 28th of October 28, 2022.
The Mayor will judge all entries the week commencing Monday 31st October. The winners’ parent/guardian will be contacted before printing commences.
The winner will receive:

A framed copy of the Christmas Card along with the original entry

A £50 gift token

A presentation for the winner and their family in the Mayor’s Parlour
