Councillors have approved plans by Leicester City to create a state of the art training facility on the former Park Hill Golf Course.
Councillors have backed plans from Leicester City Football Club to build a new state of the art training facility in Charnwood.
The football club will develop the site of the former Park Hill Golf Course in Seagrave and build a new football training facility for the first team and academies. The site will have grass pitches, sports halls, rehabilitation areas as well as a 499 seat spectator stand and 9-hole golf course.
Councillors on the Planning Committee at Charnwood Borough Council voted in favour of the development by 8 votes to 4.
The application had received more than 170 comments by local residents and many objections included a letter from nearby Seagrave Village Primary School saying parents and teachers were concerned that extra traffic in the area would put school children at risk.
