Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust has warned that flu and coronavirus (Covid-19) are currently circulating at high levels.

Due to high levels of flu and coronavirus (Covid-19) hospital visitors are being asked to wear facemasks once again.

From today (05/01/2023) Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust are asking all visitors to hospitals, outpatient departments and inpatient wards to wear facemasks unless they are exempt.

They are expecting the high levels of flu and coronavirus (Covid-19) to continue to increase in the coming weeks.

They are also asking visitors to ensure they do not visit if they have any potential symptoms:

  • a new continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of smell or taste
  • any respiratory symptoms: (sneezing, runny nose or sore throat)
  • sickness and/or diarrhoea (in the last 48 hours prior to visiting).

A Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust statement said: "We hope this precaution will be a temporary measure, however, our priority remains on ensuring the safety of our patients, visitors and staff."
