Hammonds extends lease to stay in Hinckley

Hammonds, the Hinckley-based fitted furniture manufacturer, has had its lease extended for a term of 125 years.

The Borough Council which owns the land on the Harrowbrook Industrial Estate on which the Hammonds’ manufacturing site is based, has leased it to the company since the 1970s. Following a recent review, councillors agreed to extend the lease for a term of 125 years which will help to ensure the business remains on Harrowbrook Industrial Estate for the foreseeable future; as well as safeguarding valuable income for local taxpayers.

Hammonds was founded in Hinckley in 1926 and supplies fitted bedroom, kitchen and home office furniture to both the home improvement and new build markets.

It has 89 showrooms across the UK, and the purpose-built headquarters in Nutts Lane, Hinckley, makes more than 250 orders a day, distributed via 15 regional service centres.
