Ross Macullam appeared before both Leicester Crown and Magistrates courts today, charged with murder.
The 29-year-old of Windsor Close in Coalville, spoke only to confirm his name.
No plea or application for bail was made and he was remanded in custody until a provisional trial date of 7th March 2022. It is expected to last two weeks.
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled at Leicester Crown Court for the 1st October.
Megan, 23, was initially reported missing to Warwickshire Police and an investigation by their officers led them to Leicestershire. Her body was found in Charley Road, near Woodhouse Eaves, in the early hours of Sunday morning (8 August).
Mr. Macullam was later arrested on suspicion of rape and has technically been released under investigation regarding the matter. At the adjournment of the hearing he was led down to the cells.
