A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a collision on the A511 near Coalville yesterday evening (Monday).
Leicestershire Police were called at 9.30pm to the A511 at Sinope between the junction of Flagstaff Island and The Moorlands. The collision involved a white Ford Transit van and a blue Yamaha motorcycle.
Officers are appealing to anyone with any information to get in touch with them.
The motorcyclist, who is in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he currently remains with serious injuries.
The driver of the van was reported to have left the scene following the collision.
A 24-year-old man, from Nottingham, has since been arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and failing to stop at a road traffic collision. He has since been released under investigation.
Detective Constable Charlotte Wright, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this collision.
“As part of our enquiries, we are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact. Please think back to if you were in the area yesterday evening. Did you witness the collision? Or did you see either of the vehicles beforehand? Do you have any dashcam footage from the area which could help us in our enquiries?
“If you have any information, and have not yet spoken to police, please get in touch.”
