Charnwood's Market traders have issued a plea to local shoppers to use their local markets.
It comes as Loughborough prepares to celebrate 800 years of having a market in the town centre.
The traders have come together to encourage people to use their local markets in Loughborough and Shepshed in the run up to Christmas.
The traders taking part all stand on Loughborough market on a Thursday and Saturday or Shepshed on a Friday.
It comes as part of a wider campaign from Charnwood Borough Council urging people to support their local high street in the run up to Christmas, after a difficult year of trading because of Covid 19.
The traders involved include:
Lisa Doe's Eggs
Cooling's Butchers
Daniel Hansen, Plants and Shrubs
Cavener Brothers Fishmongers in Loughborough and Shepshed
Smith's fruit and veg
Homemade bakes and crafts on Shepshed Market
Boon's socks
The Thursday and Saturday markets have continued to operate in Loughborough during the Tier 3 restrictions with relevant social distancing measures in place.
The Friday market in Shepshed, the Friday Vintage market in Loughborough and the monthly Farmers market have also continued to operate in a covid secure manner.
The traders hope with their new campaign, more people will consider using their local market in the new year.
