Recently there have been issues on the path and cycle route close to the Coventry Road car park entrance.

Work will soon begin on a footpath and cycle route to prevent surface water issues in a Hinckley-based park.

The route in Clarendon Park has issues with surface water and flooding so the Borough Council are working to prevent the problem.

In 2019 they installed a new drainage system across Clarendon field and this has eased the issue of surface water at the corner of the footpath, which runs towards the Roston Drive entrance to the main park.

However, recently there have been issues on the path and cycle route close to the Coventry Road car park entrance.

Work will begin early in the new year to install a new drainage system to prevent further flooding and surface water issues in this area.

Executive Member for Planning at the Borough Council and local ward councillor for Hinckley Clarendon, Councillor David Bill, said: "This is a well-used walkway and cycleway across what is a most attractive park. We will keep working on the problem until it is solved."
