More children in Leicestershire secure first choice.
Figures released today show that 92.4 per cent of children across Leicestershire have secured a place at their first-choice primary school which is an increase on last year's figure.
More than 7,600 applications have been received with 98 per cent of applicants being offered one of their preferred options, 4.7 per cent securing their second choice and 0.88 per cent securing their third choice.
Parents and carers are being notified by the county council from today.
Councillor Ivan Ould, cabinet member for children and families, said: “We’re very pleased with these figures which remain encouraging, particularly with the increase in applications we received this year.
“We’d like to assure parents and carers that we are also here to help and support them through this process. We’re also monitoring the situation closely in regard to the current Covid-19 restrictions.”
