Passengers told to travel by rail if only 'absolutely necessary' today

Train strikes are affecting passengers throughout the country.

Members from the RMT Union will strike today which will disrupt trains travelling through Hinckley, Nuneaton and Loughborough stations. 

East Midlands Railway which travels through Loughborough will only run between 06:30 - 18:30 - with the last departures starting between 15:00 and 16:30

East Midlands Railway, said: "Customers are being advised to travel by rail only if absolutely necessary during strike action."

Crosscounty trains running on the Birmingham New Street to Leicester route will offer a half-hourly service for most of the day. This service stops at Hinckley and Nuneaton.

The first train on this route will be 07:52 and the last train 18:22.
