A pedestrian has died following a collision with a motorcycle near Loughborough.
Nottinghamshire police said the man died at the scene in Trowell Lane, Sutton Bonington at around 11.40am on Sunday 13th September.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
A spokesperson from the force said: "Officers have arrested a man on suspicion of causing death by careless driving whilst over the prescribed limit.
"The road has been closed while the police investigation continues at the scene."
Detective Sergeant Adam Cooper, who is leading the investigation, said: "The pedestrian sadly died at the scene. Officers are liaising with the man's family and our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
"Enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any dash-cam footage that may be helpful to the investigation, to get in touch as soon as possible."
