Two major roads are scheduled to be given a clean in March to get rid of the litter and debris on the central reservations, slip roads and laybys.
The work will be taking place on the A6 and A46 in the borough.
Matt Bradford, the Council’s head of cleansing and open spaces, said: “The Council is responsible for cleansing sections of the A6 and A46 in Charnwood. We are committed to caring for the environment and that includes keeping the borough a clean place to live and visit.
“We know it’s frustrating seeing litter on the roads. I would urge people to also do their bit for the environment by placing any rubbish in a litter bin if they’re out walking or save it and dispose of it at home.
“Small actions can make a big difference, so please play your part and help us to keep our borough clean and tidy.”
Charnwood Borough Council’s waste partner Serco will be undertaking the clean-up.
The clean up is due to start on March 26 and will be ongoing until April 20, 2022.
