New Cadets

• The Lord Lord-Lieutenant of Leicestershire has appointed six new cadets to support him in the upcoming year.
• Their duties are varied, including giving readings at services, helping with the shortlisting for awards, and involvement in the annual Armed Forces Day.
• He's chosen young people from the county's Cadet Forces representing the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Police, Fire Service and St John Ambulance.

Christmas safety in North West Leicestershire.

• A safety campaign has been launched in Coaville to help keep people safe over the Festive period.
• North West Leicestershire District Council says that spot checks on taxis will be done to make sure they are safe for customers.  
• A knife arch will be deployed at undisclosed locations during the festive period. 
• Newly appointed street wardens will be patrolling over the festive period, to look after people if they have drunk too much.

Memorial Park Sileby 

• A new multi-use games area has been completed in Sileby
• It is part of a major revamp of Memorial Park and two new play areas are currently being installed.
• The scheme will also improve the Sports Pavilion and create a community garden.
• The project has been funded by the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
