Mariusz's family's statement in-full:
“It is with great sadness that we can confirm the passing of Mariusz Dabrowski, a son, a brother and a friend to many.
“Mariusz was the life and soul of the family; he would often be the one to make everyone laugh with his pranks and jokes, and would always create happiness everywhere he went.
“He attended St Anne's Catholic Primary School before attending St Thomas More Catholic School and finally NWSL College, where he loved to learn new skills and socialise, and spreading joy to many along the way.
“However, Mariusz had a tragic accident in September 2018 in which he suffered a serious brain injury. Mariusz recovered quickly from his physical injuries but did start to develop depression and anxiety a few months later. He was diagnosed with PTSD.
“Mariusz injuries lead to mental health problems and he received help from CAMHS and other professional services. He made a good recovery and started to attend college to think about his future prospects.
“He was an intelligent and smart young man that always looked after himself and others and had the strongest of hearts. He will never be forgotten, all the memories we have will be remembered daily and celebrated.
“The family would like to say thank you to everyone who supported Mariusz through his illness and the difficult battle he was fighting. They would also like to thank everyone who have supported the family throughout the difficult time and the tragic loss of their beloved son, brother and friend.
“Mariusz sleep tight, be at peace, you will never be forgotten and will forever be in our hearts.”
